Job Overview:

The Airport Operations Team Leader is responsible for ensuring an exceptional experience for all travelers utilizing the airport facilities. This role encompasses overseeing all customer-facing services from the moment passengers enter the airport until their departure. The scope of responsibilities includes maintaining the aesthetic and functional quality of airport amenities, ensuring operational readiness, and enhancing terminal ambiance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of customer service professionals to deliver a seamless and safe passenger experience.
  2. Supervise daily operational activities, including passenger processing, gate management, and baggage system oversight.
  3. Conduct regular evaluations and inspections of assigned facilities to maintain high standards.
  4. Coordinate maintenance efforts with contractors and internal teams to ensure operational integrity.
  5. Train, schedule, and assess the performance of customer service staff.
  6. Act as the Division Manager in their absence, ensuring continuity of operations.
  7. Foster collaboration among team members and stakeholders to enhance the overall passenger experience.
  8. Manage all aspects of customer service, including information booths and lost and found operations.
  9. Promote a safe and healthy environment for both customers and staff through established safety protocols.
  10. Ensure compliance with policies and regulations related to customer service operations.
  11. Support the fiscal goals of the customer service unit.
  12. Facilitate special events and manage the presence of dignitaries and VIPs.
  13. Represent the department in presentations to stakeholders and the public.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

This position may require lifting moderately heavy items and involves prolonged periods of walking on uneven surfaces. The role may expose the individual to varying environmental conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Aviation Management, Business, or a related field. Relevant professional experience in airport operations or customer service may substitute for educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.

Experience Requirements:

A minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in airport operations or customer service is required, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity.

Licensing Requirements:

A valid Class C Texas driver's license is required, along with the ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain necessary security clearances.

Preferences:

Preference will be given to candidates with operational experience in an airport setting, strong communication skills, and a commitment to customer service excellence.
