Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at South Central Health System. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by performing various laboratory tests and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative laboratory tests in a prompt manner, including internal and external proficiency testing and quality control.
  • Evaluate all samples for specimen integrity, checking data for validity of results, instrument functions, reagent reactivity, and investigating any discrepancies with documentation of resolution, including QCC as needed.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, perform electronic checks, and perform preventive maintenance on various analyzers in designated areas, documenting as required and obtaining service as needed.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of reagents and materials in the work area by checking in supplies and keeping all areas stocked, informing the supervisor of the need to reorder.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records, per protocol, within the QC/QA program, notifying the supervisor of any discrepancies and documenting all necessary data.
  • Coordinate activities efficiently to provide time necessary to perform other related duties, such as CAP workload recording, checking outstanding orders, and participation in continuing education programs and special projects designated by administration.
Requirements:
  • Graduate MT, CLS, CLT, or MLT and/or Certified or Associate Degree in CLT or MLT
  • Trained in Microbiology
