We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Warfare Systems Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing future combat system architectures for our sponsors, addressing the associated requirements and needed interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:- Help design and develop future combat system architectures for our sponsors, addressing the associated requirements and needed interfaces;
- Develop and use analysis tools and scripts that can conduct system-level trade studies and analysis of alternatives;
- Use system models and simulations to design and assess performance of new and emerging capabilities;
- Assess the necessary functional allocations and data flows within systems and between systems;
- Identify, define and mitigate technical risks associated with system designs;
- Create analytical products and effectively communicate technical findings and recommendations to APL leadership, government sponsors, and the engineering community.
- Have a BS degree in systems engineering, computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, or other related technical degree;
- Have previous related professional systems engineering experience;
- Possess excellent technical writing and presentation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff including engineers, scientists, and technicians as a member of a multidisciplinary team;
- Be able to obtain a/an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance.
