Job Summary:The University of Miami Health System at Doral has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Registered Nurse Gastroenterology Specialist. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care in a culturally competent manner, utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service.
Responsibilities:- Assess and evaluate patients, documenting nursing care and reporting symptoms and changes in patients' condition and vital signs.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses, conditions, and physician orders.
- Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic tests to assess patient's condition.
- Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals related to assigned patients to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Prepare patients for, and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support.
- Perform appropriate patient tests and safely administer medications within the scope of practice.
- Administer and maintain accurate records related to medications and treatments as per regulatory bodies, policies, procedures, and physician orders.
- Communicate plan of care in a timely manner to patient and family, as well as the appropriate team members, ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines.
- Use available resources to assist in discharge planning.
- Plan, prioritize, and adjust assignments to accomplish goals and render superior patient care; seek assistance when needed.
- Safely operate medical equipment.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Florida Registered Nurse License.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification (ACLS).
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
