Job Title: Psychiatric Consultant

Cascadia Health is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Consultant to join our team. As a Psychiatric Consultant, you will play a crucial role in delivering integrated behavioral health services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide regular consultations to behavioral health care managers, focusing on patients who are new to the caseload or those not improving under their current treatment plan.
  • Oversee the status and population health of your assigned patient caseload, utilizing a registry to track and prioritize patients for review and treatment adjustments.
  • Recommend treatment adjustments, including medication changes, within 24 hours of consultation, and advise on cases needing more specialized mental health care.
  • Conduct direct evaluations of patients with significant diagnostic or therapeutic challenges referred by primary care providers.
  • Offer brief episode-of-care medication management with the goal of either referral to specialty psychiatric care or returning the patient to primary care once stabilized.
  • Collaborate closely with primary care providers, behavioral health care managers, behavioral health consultants, and other team members to ensure comprehensive and effective patient care.
Qualifications:
  • Licensed Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with an unencumbered license to practice medicine in Oregon, including active DEA certification and compliance with all maintenance requirements.
  • At least 3 years experience as a psychiatric provider.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize medical and psychiatric data quickly and formulate evidence-based clinical recommendations.
