Job Summary:
Merrimack College, a leading institution of higher education, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join its Office of Undergraduate Admission as an Associate Director of Undergraduate Admission. This role will be responsible for planning and executing recruitment strategies to attract and enroll domestic first-year students, with a focus on special academic cohort programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in the supervision of undergraduate recruitment staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service and the achievement of recruitment goals.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for recruitment staff, focusing on best practices in student recruitment and admissions.
- Collaborate with the admissions team to plan and execute recruitment strategies, including college fairs, high school visits, and on-campus information sessions.
- Oversee the management of a recruitment territory, including the development of a comprehensive recruitment plan and the evaluation of applications for admission.
- Build and maintain relationships with school counselors, alumni, and other constituents to promote Merrimack College and its programs.
- Participate in the admission committee to make informed decisions about student applications.
- Develop and maintain a network of school and education counselor contacts, ensuring ongoing communication and relationship-building.
- Contribute to the achievement of institutional enrollment goals, working collaboratively with the admissions team to ensure the success of the college's recruitment efforts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Valid U.S. driving license required.
- At least 5 years of admission experience with progressively increasing responsibility in selective college admissions and/or college counseling.
- Strong commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and cross-cultural competence.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude, proactive mindset, and strong work ethic.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize among competing tasks and pay close attention to detail while working in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, make decisions quickly, and approach challenges creatively and independently.
- Willingness to learn and utilize the latest technology in enrollment planning, including experience with a customer relationship management (CRM) system.
- Experience providing top-notch customer service.
- Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a data-oriented and analytical environment that has a high level of individual and team accountability.
- Ability and willingness to work extended hours, including nights & weekends, & travel extensively, including overnights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience working in a higher education setting.
- Knowledge of enrollment management principles and practices.
- Experience with CRM systems and other enrollment management software.
