Senior Commercial Construction Cost Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Commercial Construction Cost Estimator to join our team in Portland, Oregon. As a key member of our construction division, you will play a critical role in preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and schedules for commercial construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Cost Estimation:
- Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects from initial bid to project completion.
- Analyze architectural and engineering plans, specifications, and other project documents to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Identify and quantify materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor needs.
- Bid Preparation:
- Prepare and submit competitive bids in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitations to Bid (ITBs).
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the bid.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best possible pricing and terms.
- Budget Management:
- Monitor project budgets and costs throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Provide regular updates and reports to management on cost variances and potential financial impacts.
- Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and local building codes.
- A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
- Proven track record of successful project estimations and bid submissions in the Portland, Oregon market.
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
