Job Overview

Salary: $28.00 DOE

L&E Tubing is in search of a dedicated Machine Operator, Level II to oversee operations from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This role is integral to our manufacturing process, involving the operation of pressure testing, deburring machinery, measurement systems, and fitting installations in end-prep and swage areas. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, while being open to training and guidance as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operate various machines, including:
    • Measuring parts using Supravision VMM and Tubshaper software
    • Tube deburring and flaring machines
    • Pressure testing machines
    • Tube cutting band saws
    • Disk and circular grinders
    • Pneumatic hand tools
  • Interpret customer and industry specifications from engineering documents
  • Execute tube manufacturing operations according to specifications and internal instructions
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Safely operate equipment
  • Understand and be certified in basic metrology, including micrometers
  • Read and interpret blueprints, including part views and notes
  • Comply with quality manual and training requirements
  • Input relevant process and IPC data into the ERP system during production runs
  • Accurately track time and meet expected work order targets
  • Be prompt in loading and unloading production parts and managing offline support tasks
  • Monitor cutting tool performance and report issues to senior operators
  • Potential for future opportunities on the 2nd shift from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position include sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

This role involves exposure to both a standard office environment and a manufacturing setting. The manufacturing area may have noise levels reaching 89.4 decibels, necessitating OSHA-approved ear protection. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, dust masks, respirators, gloves, and safety glasses will be frequently used.

Education and Experience:

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with entry-level to 10 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the aerospace sector. Experience with CNC operations is also preferred.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in typing, Windows, Microsoft Office, and navigating ERP systems is required.
