About the Role
We are looking for a highly organized and energetic Operations Manager focused on Events to join our dynamic team at OpenAI.

In this exciting role, you will be instrumental in shaping our events programs by implementing and refining strategies that enhance efficiency and consistency as we expand our events globally.

Your primary focus will be on facilitating smooth communication across the organization and ensuring that all teams are effectively represented throughout every phase of project management.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a profound interest in artificial intelligence and a proven history in events management, operations, or administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance and optimize the operational framework for OpenAI's events, ensuring seamless cross-functional execution and maintaining high standards.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of key vendors, contractors, and contacts, nurturing strong relationships and dependable partnerships.
  • Collaborate with Events leadership and departments such as Marketing, Sales, and Recruiting to establish and monitor KPIs, ensuring consistent measurement and reporting, and standardizing lead tracking processes.
  • Work alongside Executive Business Partners to standardize communication with Executives and their support teams, ensuring clarity in schedule oversight and consistency across programs.
  • Manage partnerships with Procurement, Legal, and Finance to streamline support and keep projects on track during tight timelines.
  • Establish spending standards for OpenAI events to guide future projects.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and an Event Styleguide in collaboration with Production, Technical Production, and Design teams.
  • Oversee logistics, including shipping, international freight, customs, warehousing, inventory, and swag production.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in project management, operations, administrative support, or similar roles.
  • Experience managing multiple events and finding excitement and energy in fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated strong cross-functional team management experience, with a commitment to fostering open communication and embracing diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Enjoy exploring new ways to utilize OpenAI tools and products to enhance your team's work.
  • Show a deep interest in artificial intelligence that benefits all of humanity.

  • Offers Equity. The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
