Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Resources Gas System Administrator to join our team at the City of Mesa, AZ. As a key member of our Energy Resources Department, you will be responsible for managing the activities and operations of the Energy Services, Construction and Technical Services, or Compliance Section.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the budgetary responsibilities of your assigned section, including monthly operations analysis and performance measurement.
  • Prepare for, participate in, and respond to the annual audit conducted by the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC).
  • Manage, coordinate, oversee, and supervise subordinate supervisors.
  • Understand, create, and implement policies, procedures, and practices to ensure the Energy Resources Department provides safe, reliable, and efficient natural gas utility services to customers.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Business Management, Organizational Management, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Extensive (5+ years) full-time experience in a mid- to large-size gas distribution company in at least one of the following technical areas: regulatory safety compliance, locating underground utilities, design, construction, maintenance, repair, operations, leak survey, or corrosion control.
  • Three years of supervisory responsibility in a gas utility or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Business Management, Organizational Management, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in DOT and natural gas emergency response training.
