Patient Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Care Technician to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Assist patients with dialysis treatments, including setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, and ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Education and Training: Provide patient-specific education on dialysis procedures, including online clearance monitoring, adequacy monitoring, and disease process/access.
- Treatment and Intervention: Welcome patients, evaluate vascular access, perform cannulation, and administer heparin as delegated or allowed by state law.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient treatment information, including vital signs, treatment parameters, and any interventions or issues.
- Infection Control: Assist in collecting information for infection control audits and support staff and patient adherence to infection control practices.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification requirements.
- Experience: Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications: All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required.
