Job Summary

As a Patient Care Technician Bariatric Care, you will provide patient-related care tasks based on the principles of growth and development across the life span of patients served in your independent unit.

You will assist, observe, and report patient changes to licensed caregivers and maintain accurate medical record documentation relative to the care delivered.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing personal care and activities of daily living
  • Taking vital signs and monitoring intake and output
  • Assisting with ambulation and implementing interventions as directed by a licensed caregiver
  • Maintaining accurate medical record documentation

You will also address and/or direct questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or healthcare team members.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of Block 1 in Nursing or Medical Assistant (MA) or Nursing Assistant (NA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) or 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
