Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a talented Junior Transportation Planner to join our team in New York City. As a key member of our planning team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our exciting projects in the transportation sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct planning studies and prepare reports on new and updated plans, programs, and regulations.
  • Review and assist in the review of development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans, and regulations.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies.
  • Collect and analyze statistical data and prepare reports and maps on topics such as census information, land use, transportation tax base data, and occupancy rates.
  • Assist in evaluating re-zonings, ordinance amendments, site plans, special use permits, variances, and other proposals.
  • Coordinate community review of public and private development projects.
  • Provide information to the public regarding development regulations.
  • Assist in resolving citizen and customer issues.
  • Conduct field evaluations and assessments under direct supervision.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, or Transportation Planning.
  • Programming skills (Python, Java, R).
