Job Title: Lead Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our team at Educational Child Care Center ec3. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for our young learners.

Job Summary

The Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the EC3 child development program for a single classroom of children. This includes developing and maintaining a curriculum that meets the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of each child, based on their individual development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with EC3's mission and standards.
  • Supervise and support support staff and volunteers in the classroom, promoting a team-based and inclusive environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Michigan's childcare licensing standards and NAEYC's accreditation standards.
  • Provide positive guidance and responsive caregiving, tending to children's needs and promoting their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents through daily verbal contact, daily notes, and regular parent conferences.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of each child's progress and development.
  • Contribute to EC3's culture and operations by participating in staff meetings, sharing knowledge and expertise, and performing other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Be at least 19 years of age.
  • Hold a CDA or college degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.
  • Pass an initial and intermittent background check and receive clearance for working with young children.
  • Be physically able to sit on the floor, stand for long periods, and move around quickly as needed.
  • Have a warm and supportive attitude toward children and families of all cultures.
  • Be flexible and willing to adapt to changes in the program.
  • Be committed to lifelong learning.
