Educational Qualifications:

Recent graduates who have earned a qualifying associate, bachelor’s, master’s, professional, doctorate, vocational, or technical degree or certificate from an accredited institution within the last two years are eligible to apply.

Veterans who are unable to apply within two years of graduation due to military obligations may have up to six years post-degree completion to submit their applications.

Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-05 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:

At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level, which includes utilizing accounting methods, techniques, and terminology; entering and retrieving data in an automated accounting and/or billing system; and reconciling, adjusting, balancing, and maintaining financial transactions.

-OR- Successful completion of four years (120 semester hours) of education from an accredited college or university in any field.

A copy of your transcripts must be provided. -OR- An equivalent combination of successfully completed education from an accredited institution and relevant experience. Only education beyond the first 60 semester hours is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. A copy of your transcripts must be provided.
All qualifications must be fulfilled by the closing date of the announcement.

Experience:

Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work conducted through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work contributes to developing essential competencies, knowledge, and skills, providing valuable training and experience that directly translates to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer work.

Current or Former Political Appointees:
Employment offers made to current or former political appointees must be authorized by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).

If you are currently, or have been within the last five years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES, or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
