Senior Utilities Financial Analyst

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Utilities Financial Analyst to join our team at Relevante, Inc. in the Raleigh, NC area. This role will support the Financial Services Department in providing professional accounting and financial-related advisory services to municipal utilities and electric cooperatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Update, review, and build Excel models and Access databases.
  • Complete and manage cost-of-service studies.
  • Design utility rates.
  • Assist in preparation of financial planning and forecasting.
  • Provide cost/benefit analyses.
  • Prepare and/or give presentations.
  • Give expert testimony on behalf of our clients.
Requirements:
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work independently and part of a team.
  • Must be able to manage time across multiple projects.
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of utility rates, cost allocation methodologies, and regulatory accounting procedures.
  • Must understand the technological, market, and commercial trends driving the current utility industry transformation.
  • Must build and maintain long-term project and business advisory relationships, including actively participating in industry groups.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of rate and/or utility experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or mathematics. CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and other MS Office applications.
  • Utility experience is a must.
