Job Summary:
Evaluates public water system documentation, reports, and data to assess adherence to Texas Commission on Water Quality (TCEQ) regulations; offers technical support to both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Reconciles documentation of public water systems concerning engineering report mandates and/or the elimination of reduced lead and copper sampling; generates water quality assessments.
2. Investigates regulations, source water evaluation and protection records, and utilizes online mapping tools for wells and systems; operates mapping applications.
3. Provides technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
4. Conducts technical evaluations of plan and specification submissions.
5. Prepares formal correspondence regarding plan assessments.
6. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, environmental science, public utilities, or a related discipline, accompanied by two (2) years of full-time experience in conducting engineering or technical evaluations of public water systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in the specified fields, Engineer in Training or Professional Engineer certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient understanding of TCEQ and Environmental Protection Agency regulations, guidelines, and procedures pertaining to publicly owned treatment facilities and pretreatment initiatives.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Competence in reviewing and analyzing documentation.
- Ability to determine appropriate actions.
- Basic data entry skills.
- Effective time management and assignment handling to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient use of spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Capability to perform all necessary physical tasks.
