Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Gym Monitor to join our team at Roxbury Tenants of Harvard Association, Inc. (RTH). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our athletic facilities, ensuring a safe and clean environment for participants, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facility Management: Ensure the gymnasium is safe and clean during operating hours, and perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Program Coordination: Assist in the planning and implementation of sports and fitness programs, including coaching and instructing P.E. sports classes and programs.
  • Customer Service: Provide a high standard of customer service, respond to participant and parent inquiries, and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, including attendance, skill sheets, and report cards, and submit completed reports in a timely manner.
  • Emergency Response: Act immediately and appropriately in emergency situations, and know and follow Emergency Action Plans.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in sports and fitness management or a related field preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to interact with residents and program participants physically and verbally; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-starter with flexible work schedule; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; passion for working with residents of all ages and abilities.
Working Conditions

The Gym Monitor will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with residents, program participants, and staff. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic setting.
