Position Summary: Reporting to the P.E./Sports and Aquatics Director, the Athletic Facility Supervisor is tasked with managing activities and ensuring the smooth operation of the RTH Community Center. This role involves overseeing athletic facilities, monitoring participants and equipment, and assisting with various programs. Emphasis is placed on participation, inclusion, enjoyment, and fair play within RTH athletic initiatives. Our supervisors are expected to foster a positive atmosphere, promote health and fitness, and ensure a safe and clean environment during operational hours. Building strong relationships with community members is essential to guarantee equitable access to gym facilities for all. The role embodies the values of teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties:

  • Ensure all programs and activities are conducted safely and equipped appropriately.
  • Maintain compliance with RTH program standards and safety protocols.
  • Adhere to risk management policies for all activities.
  • Exemplify high customer service standards and serve as a role model for residents and participants.
  • Contribute to a positive and secure work environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings as required.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies to ensure participant safety.
  • Familiarize with and follow Emergency Action Plans, participating in practice drills.
  • Review and enforce gymnasium policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and respond to communications within a timely manner.
  • Complete and submit reports and attendance records punctually.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Program Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coaching and instructing physical education and sports programs, implementing best practices and innovative models.
  • Administer programs suitable for various ages and abilities.
  • Enforce rules and regulations of the sports being played.
  • Manage game timing and announce breaks effectively.
  • Monitor player behavior to ensure adherence to conduct rules.
  • Inspect sports equipment to meet organizational standards.
  • Provide equal attention to the development of all athletes.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the facility and perform routine maintenance.
  • Start and conclude sessions punctually, addressing participant inquiries and cleaning up afterward.
  • Teach sport-specific classes and monitor gym activities as needed.
  • Facilitate resident engagement through outreach efforts, enhancing the department's image through community relations.
  • Ensure gym facilities and equipment are well-maintained to support program participation.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Ability to interact with residents and participants both physically and verbally.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Engagement in physical activities such as standing, walking, climbing, and bending.
  • Knowledge of RTH policies and facility regulations.
  • Ability to observe participant activities and enforce safety measures effectively.
