ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Site Coordinator, you will deliver both on-site and virtual consultation by collaborating with schools and youth organizations. Your focus will be on providing guidance and professional development to staff that encourages social thinking and boosts physical activity through play-based learning. You will engage directly with school administration, educators, and recess teams to share expertise on Playworks best practices, as well as model and teach strategies, games, and systems to cultivate a positive classroom and recess environment. Together with the school, Site Coordinators will create opportunities for students and staff to engage in physical activity, develop leadership skills, and practice respectful and inclusive behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Implementation:
  • Design and execute a consultative play-based program at multiple public elementary schools.
  • Coordinate with school administration, educators, and recess teams to schedule program delivery, whether in-person or virtually, while managing necessary documentation and maintaining up-to-date schedules.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication among Playworks staff, school personnel, teachers, and volunteers.
  • Plan and conduct training sessions for recess staff and learning units.
  • Provide on-site and/or virtual coaching and consultation to school personnel regarding the implementation of key program components.
Coaching Responsibilities:
  • Exemplify Playworks core values and effective program implementation strategies for school personnel.
  • Offer actionable feedback and plans to school staff on program execution.
  • Lead monthly discussions with school personnel to share best practices and set program quality goals.
  • Provide observational notes and strategic insights to the Playworks Program Manager for consultation priorities.
  • Facilitate training sessions for school staff in collaboration with the Program Manager.
Partnership Development:
  • Represent Playworks professionally and consistently.
  • Collaborate with school administration to design a program schedule.
  • Communicate with school leadership regarding logistical needs and support for program implementation.
  • Assist schools in transitioning to other Playworks training and programs for future academic years.
  • Promote Playworks services to prospective schools to support recruitment efforts for TeamUp services.
  • Engage in opportunities to become a certified trainer in Playworks Pro services.
Administrative Duties:
  • Ensure timely communication with clients and maintain proactive internal communication.
  • Organize and manage necessary paperwork, including schedules and reports.
  • Support school recruitment efforts through research and outreach.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Playworks Program Manager regarding program quality and consultation priorities.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Strong organizational skills with a track record of timely deliverables.
  • In-depth knowledge of youth development principles, particularly in social and emotional learning.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in various group settings.
  • Experience in adult training and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse communities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and adapt to changing environments.
Compensation & Benefits:

Playworks offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as retirement plans with employer matching. Generous paid time off is also provided. This position is full-time and exempt, with a starting salary of $43,000.

Service Environment: This role involves working in both school and office settings, with daily interactions with children on playgrounds and in classrooms. A significant portion of this role may be conducted virtually.
