Oncology Pharmacy Specialist

In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient preparation and distribution of medications and intravenous solutions, including chemotherapeutic and biotherapeutic agents, within the oncology and infusion center. Your duties will align with established protocols, policies, and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compounding both hazardous and non-hazardous medications, including batch compounding of pharmaceutical products.
  • Managing inventory and tracking medications to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Utilizing various pharmacy equipment and technology to perform quality control tasks as assigned.
  • Dispensing chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Maintaining accurate records of partial multi-dose vials and injectable medications.
  • Ordering medications daily from vendors and addressing back-order issues.
  • Maintaining adequate supply levels while implementing cost-containment practices.
  • Operating and maintaining specialized pharmacy equipment.
  • Possessing a thorough understanding of medications, dosage forms, and both trade and generic names.
  • Demonstrating expertise in the preparation of sterile parenteral products using proper aseptic techniques and pharmaceutical calculations.
