Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to enhance our comprehensive cancer care services.
The oncology team at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Cancer Center consists of a collaborative group of 5 Medical Oncologists, 3 Radiation Oncologists, 2 Nurse Practitioners, Oncology Certified Nurses, Clinical Trials staff, Cancer Registrars, and various support professionals. Our oncology specialists rotate to provide care at satellite clinics, ensuring accessibility for patients. Additionally, collaboration with a nearby medical center may involve patient consultations.
Key Highlights of the Role:
- Accredited by the Commission on Cancer
- State-of-the-art 35,000 square foot cancer center situated in a serene, natural environment
- Supportive and collegial healthcare professionals
- Access to OCN Certified nurses, nurse navigators, social workers, nutritionists, financial counselors, and spiritual support personnel
- Participation in the CMS Oncology Care Model aimed at enhancing patient care
- Engagement in general and site-specific tumor boards to ensure evidence-based treatment
- Incorporation of complementary therapies
- Active involvement in clinical research trials
- Utilization of Epic EMR for efficient patient management
This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement, and multiple openings may be available.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive first-year salary range: $131,123-$166,150 based on Nurse Practitioner experience

Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive and focused assessments, interpreting diagnostic tests to inform treatment plans.
- Order and perform necessary laboratory or diagnostic procedures.
- Assist in surgical procedures and provide ongoing patient assessments.
- Prescribe medications and durable medical goods within the scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document treatment progress.
- Provide counseling on preventive care and management of medical conditions.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Certification: Board certification by the AAPA or AANP is required.
Experience:
- Preferred: At least 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant.
Licensure:
- Required: Valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Washington, or eligibility to obtain by start date.
- Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
Skills:
- Knowledge of age-specific growth and development principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
