The Patient Care Coordinator is tasked with managing all incoming communications from both internal and external sources, ensuring a professional and courteous response.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage incoming calls and communications promptly.
- Perform data entry, documentation, and email correspondence.
- Collaborate with team members, other Access2Care staff, healthcare professionals, and providers.
- Gain proficiency in Access2Care's transportation software.
- Assist in coordinating recurring and urgent trips for eligible members.
- Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in a Dispatch/Communications Center is preferred.
- Experience in customer service and phone communication is preferred.
- Prior experience in dispatching or routing is advantageous.
Education:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- At least six (6) months of relevant work experience within the last four years is required.
Skills:
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Capacity to multitask with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to learn various software applications.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative approach.
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships across all levels of management.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and services is preferred.
- Experience in the healthcare sector is advantageous.
- Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
- Multilingual skills are a plus.
