About the Position

We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead our Automation Development team, responsible for overall leadership and development support of high-quality products for Raymond material handling equipment.

This role will provide leadership in the areas of Automation, New Technologies, and bridge the Research and New Product Development teams.

The successful candidate will manage and lead R&D and technical programs resulting in new and/or improved products, increased output, and/or reduced costs.

We require a leader with the right balance of creativity, initiative, and drive to move solutions quickly from concept to realization.

This role will involve active collaboration with Toyota Material Handling's world-class technical staff to solve challenging problems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work closely with Management to develop the Strategic Technology Plan and corporate goals/objectives regarding developing new products within the overall NPD group.
  2. Leverage innovative conceptual ideas born from various parts of the business, including Research, Development, Marketing, Operations, etc., and assist in implementing them into new products.
  3. Coordinate a multi-disciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, software, and systems technical resources.
  4. Provide overall coordination of implementing new development engineering and production strategies.
  5. Champion development methodologies and tools required to release products in support of overall business objectives, improve quality, and reduce time to market.
  6. Guide and coach the team through adoption and transitional phases of platform development, design practice, risk analysis (technical and commercial), testing and validation, performance trade-off studies, cost studies, supplier selections, and engineering process development.
  7. Collaborate with outside partners to gain access to technology solutions for further development and commercialization.
  8. Recruit, develop, and retain a world-class Advanced Development engineering organization.
  9. Instill overall accountability by setting expectations, putting in place robust team management disciplines, and providing direct feedback.
  10. Manage staffing levels to match budgets and meet the approved new product development roadmap needs, including full-time, temporary employees, and independent contractors.
  11. Foster and generate advanced Intellectual Property, positioning Raymond Corporation to continue its history of technical leadership in all aspects of material handling.
  12. Interface with Toyota Industries global members in working groups and other collaboration sessions.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science.

The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of experience, with 5 years in technical management, and possess strong leadership skills, including the ability to manage vision and purpose.

Experience in research and/or product development, leading successful product introductions, and managing projects with multiple dependencies is essential.

Strong interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills, as well as excellent teamwork skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, are required.

About the Total Compensation Package

The selected candidate will receive a competitive salary, ranging from $146,500 to $187,500 per year, depending on education and experience.
