Responsibilities & Requirements
Position Summary:
The Director of Compliance Programs/Privacy ("Director") reports directly to the Chief Compliance Officer/Vice President of Corporate Integrity. The Director plays a pivotal role in assisting the CCO with the establishment and execution of a robust compliance and corporate integrity framework for the Kettering Health system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate, refine, and implement system-wide policies to ensure compliance with Kettering Health's compliance program, as well as federal and state privacy laws and regulations aimed at preventing fraud, waste, and abuse in federal healthcare programs.
- Act as Kettering Health's Chief Privacy Officer.
- Continuously identify areas of compliance risk within healthcare operations to monitor and audit, utilizing various data sources, including federal and state guidelines, internal risk assessments, and concerns reported through the Kettering Health hotline.
- Assist in the development and management of an annual compliance strategy designed to mitigate potential fraud, waste, and abuse, focusing on areas highlighted by federal and state agencies and specific organizational risks.
- Co-manage Kettering Health's drug diversion initiative and aid in investigations related to drug diversion.
- Support the examination of compliance-related issues reported to Kettering Health's hotline.
- Participate in committees, teams, and projects to provide expert compliance guidance and advice.
- Respond promptly and effectively to inquiries regarding a wide range of compliance-related matters, including conflicts of interest, beneficiary inducement, billing and coding, HIPAA compliance, provider-based regulations, and physician compensation.
- Deliver training and educational sessions to leaders, providers, and staff across the organization on healthcare compliance-related topics.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance role with leadership responsibilities.
- Ability to work in the office at least 4 days per week.
- A compliance-oriented mindset with a strong sense of integrity and the capability to collaborate effectively with leaders to address complex challenges.
- Excellent project management, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, managing multiple complex and confidential tasks and competing priorities.
- Capacity to allocate resources based on data and the identified priorities of the organization and compliance department.
