Metals Laboratory Technician

Columbia Laboratories, a part of the Tentamus North America network, is seeking a meticulous Metals Laboratory Technician to enhance our analytical team.

Your Role and Responsibilities:Reporting to the Metals Manager, you will play a vital role in our state-of-the-art analytical laboratory by undertaking the following tasks:
- Prepare sample digests and extractions for trace metal analysis utilizing techniques such as ICP-OES, ICPMS, HPLC-ICPMS, and HG-CVAA.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks and documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and address any challenges that may arise.
- Adhere to stringent quality and regulatory standards, following all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Oversee the maintenance of laboratory equipment and manage inventory levels for supplies.
- Compile reports and summarize findings using Excel, laboratory software, and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Safely handle hazardous materials, primarily concentrated acids.
- Complete assigned projects to adapt to evolving laboratory demands.
This is a full-time position based at Columbia Laboratories, with a flexible day shift schedule from Monday to Friday. Overtime eligibility is available.
Qualifications:The ideal candidate will have authorization to work in the United States without restrictions and possess an AA/AS in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent experience in an analytical or production laboratory. Additional qualifications include:
- Preferred experience with trace metal preparation and analytical methodologies.
- Familiarity with laboratory terminology, wet chemistry, bench work, and standard laboratory techniques.
- Proficiency in LIMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
