Job Overview

Greetings,

Pride Health is currently seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician to provide support within a prominent medical facility. This role is structured as a contract position with potential for extension, aimed at attracting candidates interested in long-term opportunities within a leading healthcare organization.

Certification Requirement: Candidates must possess ASCP or AMT certification.

Educational Background: An Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology is essential.

Experience: A generalist laboratory background is preferred.

Location: This position is based in a major metropolitan area.

Employment Type: Initial contract duration of 6 months with potential for extension.

Work Schedule: Night shifts from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends.

Training Schedule: Initial training will occur during weekdays, transitioning to evening shifts to accommodate high volume, followed by night shifts.

Vaccination Requirements: Hepatitis B and MMR vaccinations are mandatory, with declination allowed only for Hepatitis B.

Medical Screening: Candidates will undergo TB screening, MMR screening, and color vision assessment.

Compensation: The pay range for this position is between $32 and $41 per hour, based on education, experience, and relevant healthcare credentials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform both routine and advanced technical procedures in accordance with established protocols.
  • Evaluate specimen acceptability based on predetermined criteria.
  • Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Make informed technical decisions regarding testing and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Prepare, assess, and document new reagents or controls.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and quality control checks.
  • Assist in specimen processing as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a relevant field with a BS or MLT degree.
  • ASCP or AMT certification is mandatory.
