Your Role and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Metals Manager, you will play a key role in our premier analytical laboratory by undertaking the following tasks:

  • Prepare sample test digests and extractions for trace metal analysis utilizing techniques such as ICP-OES, ICPMS, HPLC-ICPMS, and HG-CVAA.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure efficient operations and address any challenges that may arise.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance, following all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversee laboratory equipment maintenance and manage inventory levels for laboratory supplies.
  • Compile reports and summarize findings using Excel, instrument software, and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Safely handle hazardous materials, particularly concentrated acids.
  • Execute assigned projects to adapt to evolving laboratory requirements.
Position Details:

This is a full-time, onsite position at Columbia Laboratories, with a flexible day shift schedule from Monday to Friday. Overtime eligibility is available.

Qualifications for Success:

The ideal candidate will have authorization to work in the United States without restrictions and possess an AA/AS in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline, or relevant experience in an analytical or production laboratory. Additional qualifications include:

  • Preferred experience with trace metal preparation and analytical methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of laboratory terminology, wet chemistry, bench work, equipment, materials, and standard techniques/procedures used in a production laboratory.
  • Familiarity with LIMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
