Ultrasound Medical Sonographer Job Description

UCHealth is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Medical Sonographer to join our team at Poudre Valley Hospital Main Hosp in Fort Collins, CO.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to perform various ultrasound procedures, analyze results, and identify issues with imaging quality. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in diagnostic medical sonography and be registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, obstetric, and vascular exams
  • Analyze results and identify issues with imaging quality
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions
  • Provide patient education and ensure patient understanding and cooperation

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
  • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
