About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Platform Engineer to join our team at DISH. As a key member of our Technology organization, you will play a vital role in driving automation and innovation across our business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and optimize CI/CD tools and processes to ensure seamless software development and deployment.
  • Drive automation at all stages of software development, release, operations, and maintenance to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to brainstorm new ideas and improve development delivery.
  • Research and implement open-source technologies to solve automation problems and improve our technology stack.
  • Provide technical guidance and education to Development teams on CI/CD, automation toolsets, and processes.
  • Manage the DevOps function and responsibilities for the APIGEE platform.
  • Support and enhance existing tools, platforms, and processes, including Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker, Bash Scripting, and Alfred.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of IT experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with containerization and container scheduling technologies, including Docker, Rancher, and Kubernetes.
  • Working experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps culture, including GitLab CI, Jenkins, and Helm.
  • Knowledge of software development frameworks and languages, including Spring, Java, Go, PHP, and Python.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and Bash scripting.
  • Working experience with AWS.
  • Experience with infrastructure and configuration as code solutions, including Terraform, Ansible, or Cloudinit.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $110,100.00 to $140,000.00 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) plan with company match, ESPP, and a flexible time away plan.
