Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator plays a pivotal role in leadership by collaborating with the Director/Designee to plan, organize, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate patient care. The care provided is tailored to be age-appropriate and considers the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety, and learning needs of individual patients. Responsibilities encompass fiscal, human resource, and operational functions. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator performs delegated duties in line with the scope of practice and adheres to the philosophy and overall care plan at Swedish Medical Center, demonstrating positive support for the organization's goals, values, and mission.

Position Requirements

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate nursing licensure. Current BCLS certification through AHA or ARC.

B. Education:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Bachelor's degree in a health-related field is required. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

C. Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of clinical RN experience is preferred. Two years of progressive supervisory or charge nurse experience is also preferred. Candidates should be able to articulate and demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory and practice.

D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrates the ability to provide direct patient care and assume charge nurse responsibilities. Capable of recognizing the needs and concerns of individuals while maintaining constructive relationships in all interactions. Adheres to departmental safety initiatives. Effective communication skills in both oral and written forms. Participates in the counseling and guidance of personnel. Ability to take on a leadership role within the healthcare team in planning and delivering patient care.

1. Proven competence with patient care information systems.

2. Strong planning, analytical, and written communication skills.

3. Ability to utilize and mentor others in the nursing process.

4. Proficient in using databases, spreadsheets, and word processing to analyze statistical reports.

5. Ability to educate, coach, and mentor staff using adult learning principles.
