Job Title: AWS/DevOps Engineer

Crescens is seeking a highly skilled AWS/DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud-based systems on AWS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement enterprise-grade systems in AWS, including provisioning and configuration of infrastructure.
  • Partner with application teams to optimize deployment and configuration strategies.
  • Provide hands-on support for existing environments, including software installation, patch installation, upgrades, query writing, configuration, security, system monitoring and tuning, disaster recovery planning, and release deployments.
  • Troubleshoot and root cause analysis for application issues, including triage, environment validation, application configuration, network/connectivity.
  • Implement tools and automation for build, configuration management, continuous integration (CI), static and dynamic code analysis, deployment, and application monitoring.
  • Work closely with Monitoring Engineering to ensure all relevant application and database KPI's are implemented within the monitoring framework.
  • Participate in all Production Support activities during incidents and outages, providing hands-on technical resources to resolve technical issues within lower and upper environments and making recommendations for performance and capacity improvements.
  • Participate in capacity planning, tuning systems stability, provisioning, performance, and scaling of the application infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience with AWS services.
  • Networking: VPC / Subnets / Route Tables / VPG / Security Groups.
  • Compute: EC2 / Autoscaling / Load Balancers.
  • Database: RDS / Aurora / Dynamo.
  • Kubernetes: EKS / ECR.
  • Other: SQS / SNS / S3 / IAM / CloudFront / CloudWatch.
Desired Skills:
  • Ability to run and modify Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts in Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge debugging containers running in a Kubernetes cluster.
  • Linux system administration - ability to manage and troubleshoot Linux systems and services.
  • AWS provisioning and caching.
  • Monitoring Applications: Splunk, Dynatrace.
  • Postgres experience.
  • Pulsar experience.
  • Bash or Python is nice to have.
  • Nginx: basic understanding of Nginx configurations and reverse proxies.
  • Networking: solid understanding of routing and networking concepts.
  • Agile development environment.
  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery - Jenkins deployments and pipelines.
  • Collaboration platforms such as JIRA, Confluence, Wiki, ServiceNow.
  • Containerization technologies such as Docker, Pivotal.
  • Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Salt, Chef, Puppet.
Education:

Bachelor's degree required; relevant, equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
