Key Responsibilities:
  • Recommend hire, orient, train, and evaluate departmental employees.
  • Monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs.
  • Provide administrative leadership and supervision.
  • Prepare annual operating budget recommendations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor assigned budgets.
  • Develop, implement, and administer departmental operating policies and procedures.
  • Approve or delegate authority to approve the disbursement or authorization of financial aid to students.
  • Advise institutional administrators on matters regarding student financial aid.
  • Supervise the preparation of statistical operating and planning records and/or reports.
  • Research and remain current on changing state and federal regulations pertaining to student financial aid.
  • Establish and develop working relationships with high school counselors.
  • Advise potential or existing donors regarding procedures and alternatives for establishing scholarships, grants, and/or loan funds.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Student Services or a related field.
  • Experience equivalent to 4 years of student personnel work, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of state and federal financial aid laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to plan, direct, and evaluate the operational, financial, and personnel activities of the department.
