Position Summary:

ISI Professional Services is seeking a Construction Engineer (CE) to oversee and ensure the effective monitoring of construction activities. The CE will be responsible for managing on-site operations for various projects, ensuring that all activities are conducted smoothly and without interruption to ongoing operations. This role involves supervising and inspecting the work of multiple construction contractors, facilitating site visits, and ensuring compliance with contract specifications and relevant codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Organize and lead various meetings as requested, including weekly progress discussions with contractors, and prepare detailed minutes for documentation.
  2. Maintain daily records through CE Daily Diary reports for each assigned project.
  3. Draft Requests for Price Proposals (RPPs) outlining the scope of work and relevant specifications, along with cost estimates that detail labor, materials, and equipment expenses.
  4. Conduct quantity surveys and verify contractor progress payments, providing draft estimates and payment requests to the project team.
  5. Receive and review submittals for accuracy, ensuring all documentation is complete and properly logged.
  6. Evaluate Contractor Quality Control (QC) reports for thoroughness and accuracy, documenting construction progress with photographs.
  7. Ensure that contractors maintain updated project records, reflecting all changes and modifications prior to payment processing.
  8. Issue inspection deficiency lists and conduct inspections, preparing deficiency letters for review and approval.
  9. Verify that all required operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, and closeout documents are complete and meet contract requirements.
  10. Conduct site visits to off-site locations as necessary, as directed by the Contracting Officer.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, and active participation in an Engineer in Training (EIT) program.

OR

  • Master's degree in engineering, construction, or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution, with at least 6 years of relevant experience, and participation in an Engineer in Training (EIT) program.
  • Proficiency in using Primavera Project Planner (P3) schedules.
  • Possession of an active Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License, Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP), or American Institute of Architects (AIA) credentials.
  • Experience working at high-profile government sites.
