OVERVIEW:
This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the skills necessary for success. Please review the detailed description below to grasp the full scope of candidate qualifications. The position involves providing strategic design recommendations aligned with the long-term IT vision of the organization, while also updating the enterprise architecture to effectively support business objectives. The architect will develop enterprise-level applications and custom integration solutions, including significant enhancements and interfaces, functions, and features. Utilizing various platforms, the architect will deliver automated systems applications to clients.
INTEGRATION EXPERTISE:
The role demands expertise in the integration of applications across the organization.
The architect will determine specifications, plan, design, and develop complex, mission-critical software solutions, employing suitable software engineering methodologies—either independently or collaboratively with the project team.
STANDARDS AND PROCEDURES:The architect will establish programming and development standards, procedures, and architectures to promote code reuse. A deep understanding of contemporary programming languages and object-oriented design principles is essential for coding, testing, and debugging applications. The architect must consistently apply the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies and stay informed about emerging technologies and their applications within the business.
TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS:
The architect will set and implement standards and guidelines that direct the design of technology solutions, including the architecture and implementation of solutions that require the integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the organization.
Serving as a technical authority and vital resource across various disciplines, the architect will review, advise, and design standard software and hardware configurations, system options, risks, costs versus benefits, and their impact on the enterprise's business processes and objectives for the toll collection system or other organizational business systems.
DOCUMENTATION AND CONSULTATION:
The architect will develop and document the framework for integrating and implementing changes to technical standards, acting as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent.
Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience as outlined below.
Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of experience across various IT domains, with 2-3 years of relevant architectural experience in tolling, Intelligent Transportation Systems, or transit architecture.
Advanced to expert-level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application systems design, and integration is required.
