The Senior Project Manager will enhance existing program capabilities and deliver project management expertise to ensure the successful execution of strategic, critical, legislative, or internally directed initiatives.

This role entails the overall leadership, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of projects, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies, commitments, and objectives. The individual in this position is expected to maintain exceptional communication with management across various departments to facilitate the seamless operation of all projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate project activities related to the design and execution of business processes, legislative initiatives, and supporting information systems projects.
  2. Apply project management methodologies for the development and delivery of business projects.
  3. Facilitate and author project determination documentation in accordance with the Department of Management's Project Management and Oversight guidelines, including business cases, scope definitions, and project charters.
  4. Manage the scope, deliverables, risks, and issues associated with assigned projects.
  5. Engage with business and IT staff, business process owners, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders to gather project requirements as necessary.
  6. Collaborate with other departmental stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  7. Provide regular status updates to program management and stakeholders.
  8. Document lessons learned and conduct project closure activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology Project Management.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a structured Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project and/or other project management tools.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
  • Ability to perform other related duties as required.
