Position: Applications Architect (.Net/Azure)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Project Duration: Initial engagement of 10 months

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 12 years of experience in software architecture or as a lead developer, demonstrating extensive knowledge in various development technologies. Proficiency in Microsoft .NET (C#, VB.NET), ASP.NET/MVC, WCF/Web API, ASP.NET Web Forms, and JavaScript frameworks (such as Angular and Knockout) is essential. A strong grasp of REST, XML, JSON, HTML, and CSS is also required.

Preferred Expertise:

Candidates with experience in Azure cloud technologies will be prioritized.

Essential Qualifications:

The selected candidate should exhibit the following competencies:

  1. In-depth understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles.
  2. Expertise in design patterns, performance optimization, and troubleshooting within Microsoft .NET, Azure SQL Server, and T-SQL.
  3. Proficient in multiple development technologies, including Microsoft .NET, ASP.NET/MVC, and various JavaScript frameworks.
  4. Experience in architecting and deploying high-volume, transaction-based, distributed web applications in Azure.
  5. Ability to design advanced cloud-based applications utilizing PaaS and IaaS from leading providers like Microsoft Azure.
  6. Familiarity with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
  7. Competence in conducting comprehensive systems analysis and translating findings into effective business solutions.
  8. Knowledge of Dimensional Modeling and key concepts related to star schemas.
  9. Advanced understanding of development methodologies, including both waterfall and agile approaches.
  10. Capability to prepare test plans and establish test environments.
  11. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
  12. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
  13. Skill in integrating research and best practices for continuous improvement.
  14. Professional demeanor when interacting with various levels of management and staff.
  15. Creativity and resourcefulness in problem-solving while collaborating across diverse disciplines.
  16. Experience in managing documentation for information systems in accordance with established standards.
  17. Familiarity with financial systems, particularly PeopleSoft ERP.
  18. Experience working with Business Analysts to gather business requirements.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Understanding of the Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) system and budget management processes.
  2. Knowledge of the Florida Department of Transportation Financial Management (FM) system, including project costing and federal billing.
  3. Familiarity with mainframe systems and associated software, such as CICS and TSO.
