The primary objective of this role is to cultivate and oversee relationships with both existing and prospective clients by marketing food and non-food products to meet sales and profitability targets.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the main point of contact for customer relations.
  • Engage customers through value-added sales initiatives.
  • Utilize additional resources to maximize market penetration and establish new accounts.

US Foods offers a thorough training program for the Sales Territory Representative position.


Essential Duties:
  • Enhance customer relationships within a collaborative sales framework.
  • Coordinate deliveries according to the routing schedule set by the logistics team; address any issues that arise during the order fulfillment process.
  • Manage accounts receivable as needed, collaborating with the credit department and clients to ensure timely payment.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities by leveraging market intelligence, business directories, and networking at industry events.
  • Stay informed about market trends, product innovations, and competitor offerings, sharing insights with clients as part of our value-added services.
  • Travel to current and potential clients to ensure product delivery, which may involve lifting and transporting items weighing up to 75 lbs.

Internal:

Collaborate with District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact.

External:

Engage with customers, vendors, and potential clients.


Work Environment:
Primarily field-based, interacting with clients in various weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Preferred 1+ year of sales experience.
  • Experience in the foodservice industry, culinary arts, restaurant management, or hospitality is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities.
  • Ability to foster relationships and conduct cold calls to generate new business.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Driven by results with a competitive mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Team-oriented approach to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office; experience with CRM tools is preferred.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver's license required; motor vehicle record must be in good standing.

Must be capable of performing the following physical activities as needed:
  • Frequent standing, walking, and driving.
  • Occasional lifting of weights ranging from 21-100 lbs.
  • Frequent carrying of weights up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, and squatting.
