Position Summary:
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking talented Communications Systems Engineers / Electronic Systems Design Engineers to contribute to our Space and Launch Program.

Program Focus:
Our team is dedicated to rapid prototyping and program development, showcasing a range of mission-critical technologies for diverse clientele.

You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, engaging in all aspects of engineering including:

  • Concept development
  • Proposal writing
  • Requirements and design
  • Build, integration, testing, and demonstration of products

Your contributions will help us meet challenging requirements in a dynamic development environment.


Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze and convert system requirements into specifications for avionics and communication systems hardware and software.
• Collaborate with suppliers to establish and document product requirements.
• Deliver system and sub-system products while supporting system-level integration.
• Conduct trade studies, analyze outcomes, and lead design reviews.
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with integration requirements.
• Execute tests and validate electrical systems to confirm operational and functional standards.

All work is conducted onsite to meet security protocols. Occasional travel may be necessary, depending on business needs.


Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in either RF Communications Systems Engineering or Optical Communications Systems Engineering.
• At least 1 year of experience with satellite or space-based communication systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with aerospace platforms or programs.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Background in space-related products or programs (e.g., satellites, spacecraft, missile systems).
• Familiarity with communication systems (microwave and optical).
• Active Top Secret clearance or Tier 5 (SSBI) within the last 5 years.

Typical Education/Experience:
• Experienced (level 3): Typically requires advanced technical education and 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Lead (level 4): Typically requires advanced technical education and 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Lead (level 5): Typically requires advanced technical education and 14 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
