About the Role

Sylvan Learning Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Science Teacher to join our team as a part-time Chemistry, Physics, or STEM Teacher. As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for creating engaging and interactive learning experiences for students, evaluating their progress, and providing individualized support to help them achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Prepare and deliver high-quality lesson plans, using a variety of teaching methods to engage students and promote learning.
  • Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Evaluate student progress, identify areas of improvement, and develop strategies to support students in achieving their academic goals.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, manage classroom behavior, and ensure student safety.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, and work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to support student learning.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in science education.
Requirements
  • Education: Currently working toward a four-year degree in chemistry, physics, science, or math-related field, or already possess one.
  • Experience: Proven experience in teaching science to students of various ages and skill levels.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in basic computer operations and tablet utilization.
