Role Overview
As a pivotal member of the Software Engineering team within NIBR's Informatics organization, you will be tasked with creating next-generation software tools that enhance the acquisition, storage, integration, mining, analysis, visualization, and interpretation of diverse data types, including chemical, biological, clinical, and operational data.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

  • Design and develop state-of-the-art software tools and methodologies to support the entire design-make-test-analyze cycle.
  • Contribute significantly to the design and development of tools and technologies for data integration, processing, analysis, and visualization at scale.
  • Collaborate within a cross-functional product team to translate business requirements into powerful, functional, and aesthetically pleasing products.
  • Engage in the complete development cycle from product inception, research, and prototyping to production release.
  • Adopt an action-oriented mindset, embrace agile development principles, and apply industry-standard software development best practices.
  • Balance strong technical leadership with a willingness to learn and listen.
  • Incorporate software development best practices into daily work and inspire peers within the engineering community.
  • Ensure compliance with Novartis global Information Security and Quality standards for all products and services.
  • When applicable, uphold Regulatory Compliance standards for GxP products and services.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for individuals who bring:

  • Over 10 years of experience in building commercial-quality cloud-based solutions at scale through various SDLC and product-led approaches, ensuring performance, quality, and reliability.
  • Proven ability to lead technical aspects of complex products that integrate with other systems.
  • Capability to enhance processes and methodologies across products.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence effectively in a matrixed environment.
  • Extensive experience with modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.) and software development environments.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Background in web service development.
  • Knowledge of software development code management principles and tools (e.g., JIRA, Bitbucket, Jenkins, CI/CD).
  • A well-structured working style with clear communication that fosters effective collaboration across teams and time zones.
  • A keen attention to detail and a passion for enhancing the end-user experience.
  • A degree in computer science, information systems, life sciences, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
