About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Design Engineer to join our Vision Product Group at Apple. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of parts, assemblies, and modules within our high-performance immersive devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for our vision products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical design with other disciplines
  • Conduct tolerance analyses, interpretation of FEA, and statistical analysis to ensure design robustness
  • Work with external vendors to bring designs to life and ensure manufacturability
  • Develop and maintain 2D and 3D CAD models, as well as 2D drawings and GD&T knowledge
Requirements
  • 1-2+ years of hands-on experience in consumer electronics product design
  • Strong mechanical engineering analytical skills and understanding of common engineering materials and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably NX) and basic GD&T knowledge
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with experience in failure analysis and root cause investigation
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSME required, MS or equivalent experience preferred
  • Fluent in Unigraphics NX, including surfacing tools and statistical software (JMP)
  • Experience working through entire product cycle, including shipping product experience
