About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Design Engineer to join our Vision Product Group at Apple. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of parts, assemblies, and modules within our high-performance immersive devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for our vision products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets performance, reliability, and manufacturing requirements
  • Conduct tolerance analyses, FEA, and statistical analysis to ensure design integrity
  • Work with external vendors to optimize design for manufacturing and assembly
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including 2D drawings and 3D models
Requirements
  • 1-2+ years of hands-on experience in consumer electronics product design
  • Strong mechanical engineering analytical skills and understanding of common engineering materials and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably NX
  • Basic GD&T knowledge and experience creating and releasing 2D drawings
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSME degree required, MS or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience working with Unigraphics NX, statistical software, and MacOS
  • Shipping product experience and knowledge of handheld or wearable component modules
