Job Description

AbbVie is a leading global biopharmaceutical company committed to discovering and delivering innovative medicines and solutions that address serious health issues. We are seeking a highly skilled Neuroscience Area Marketing Manager to join our team.

This is a field-based role that requires collaboration with multiple cross-functional teams to develop and execute area marketing strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing national and regional marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with Annual Strategic Brand Plans.

The Neuroscience Area Marketing Manager will serve as the face of the AbbVie Marketing team with external experts, developing and maintaining interactions to generate insights within assigned geographies. Additionally, this role will work within a team-based environment to optimize brand performance across AbbVie Neurology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects through the promotional review process, ensuring compliance and timely delivery of high-quality work.
  • Manage strategy, execution, and budgeting for national and regional conventions, external expert consulting, advisory boards, and commercial peer-to-peer education programming.
  • Continuously apply knowledge and evaluate the effectiveness of key marketing tactics, making strategic recommendations to leadership on opportunities for brand optimization.
  • Provide in-depth insights based on the brand's key business questions to inform marketing strategy, resource optimization, and tactic development.
  • Lead partnerships with field leadership in assigned geographies to optimize pull-through of marketing strategies.
  • Understand the competitive landscape, provider dynamics, and competitive intelligence across assigned geographies.
  • Coordinate the direction and deliverables of multiple external vendors and internal departments.
Thought Leader Engagement:
  • Identify, build, and strengthen commercial relationships with external experts, emerging leaders, and relevant patient and professional associations within assigned geographies.
  • Develop regional engagement plans for external experts and ensure consistent tactical execution throughout the year to drive key marketing engagement.
  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of external and internal drivers across multiple external stakeholder groups and connect AbbVie's Integrated Brand Teams on opportunities for collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Previous experience in sales, sales management, or marketing with at least 2 years of experience in Neurology (preferred)
  • Travel up to 75% of the time, including evenings and weekends
