The LEAD Educational Environment

Our Seminar Instructors collaborate diligently with their colleagues to ensure that every student is prepared for college and meets the Tennessee educational standards by the conclusion of the academic year. This vital work is achieved through administrative support, consistent feedback, teamwork, data evaluation, and ensuring that students who enter below grade level overcome their obstacles.

We are in search of a Secondary Education Seminar Instructor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute comprehensive unit plans and lessons tailored to the diverse needs of all students, with clear, standards-aligned objectives and mission-driven lessons, accompanied by suitable assessments to evaluate student understanding.
  • Engage in weekly coaching sessions to delve into seminar curriculum, internalize content, teaching strategies, and classroom management techniques to refine your practice.
  • Participate in a collaborative educational environment with fellow team members, including grade-level collaborations, content teams, and ongoing professional development throughout the academic year.
  • Fulfill school-related responsibilities, which may include student meetings, arrival and dismissal duties, transitions, lunch supervision, and other tasks assigned by school leadership.
  • Facilitate daily CREW sessions, providing a structured opportunity for meaningful engagement with a group of students for accountability and support.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate for the Seminar Instructor role is passionate about fostering growth in students who require the most assistance, adaptable, open to guidance, and committed to professional development.

Experience:

  • Preferred minimum of two years of teaching experience, though not mandatory.
  • Prior experience with diverse student populations or in urban educational settings is advantageous.

Education/Certification:

  • A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • Candidates must possess either (a) a valid Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate content endorsement for high school (any 6-12 endorsement is acceptable), or (b) a valid out-of-state license that can be successfully transferred to Tennessee within 90 days of employment, or (c) demonstrate progress towards obtaining the necessary certification in Tennessee.
