Position Summary:
  • Mobile is America's leading Un-carrier, providing an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that ensures reliable connectivity for everyone.
The Senior RF Engineer role based in Albuquerque, NM will act as the primary technical resource for the engineering design and system performance of the GSM, LTE, and NR Radio Network. Responsibilities include supervising, monitoring, and analyzing statistical network performance data, as well as collecting, processing, and reviewing drive test data.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with operations and sales teams to troubleshoot intricate site network issues, analyze data to identify faulty equipment, and address customer feedback.

- Work alongside RF Engineers to assess and resolve complex challenges, updating databases with solutions or actions taken.

- Formulate processes and strategic methodologies for problem-solving, create inter- and intra-team workflows for system performance, and act as a KPI subject matter expert to enhance network performance.

- Serve as a lead resource for coverage, capacity, and performance initiatives on GSM/LTE/NR and emerging technology theories.

- Define and establish internal processes for radio network design, provide capacity planning and growth strategies, and engage with federal, state, and local jurisdictions to ensure compliance with regulations and zoning.

- Oversee the development of testing and validation for RF feature plan proposals and outline implementation guidelines for approved initiatives.


Skill Requirements:
  • Expertise in antenna theory, RF planning tools, capacity forecast data, and Site Design Process for advanced coverage and capacity planning for macro sites and small cells.
  • Proficient in RAN theory, Ericsson OSS tools, and Radio Network Performance tools to analyze and resolve complex GSM/LTE/NR network performance challenges.
  • Experience leading market RF rollouts for major projects and initiatives focused on network modernization, bandwidth enhancements, and new carrier integrations.
  • Knowledge of current 3GPP technical specifications and Ericsson documentation to optimize RAN KPIs for GSM, UMTS, and LTE networks.
  • Act as an engineering liaison for sales and customer care teams to address customer pain points and implement improvements in GSM, UMTS, LTE, and NR networks.
  • Conduct root cause analysis by examining call flow messages using tools like Truecall, TEMS, and Ericsson Expert Analytics.

Experience and Education Requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, along with 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, with 5 years of relevant work experience.
