Position Overview

Lockheed Martin is in search of a dedicated Senior Satellite Systems Engineer to enhance our operational capabilities. This role is pivotal in supporting mission-critical activities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and optimize mission operations within the designated work environment.
  • Engage in the production and validation processes for IT systems and products, ensuring thorough documentation is maintained.
  • Utilize advanced software tools to develop complex products tailored for client requirements.
  • Achieve and uphold certification as a System Operator.
  • Contribute to the creation and evaluation of procedures, test plans, integration documents, and problem reports, assessing their implications on missions.
  • Collaborate with management on operational challenges.

Essential Skills:
  • Familiarity with common computer architectures and operating systems.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting techniques with a strong cause-and-effect understanding.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary, multi-contractor team.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment with minimal oversight.

Training and Certification Requirements:
  • Certification as a System Operator is mandatory.
  • COMSEC certification is also required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in a multi-contractor setting.
  • Strong organizational skills for planning, prioritizing, and managing tasks.
  • Solid technical background with an operations focus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, approximately one week per year.
  • Knowledge of networking, LINUX, MS Windows, and computer system architectures.
  • Experience in telecommunications and satellite communications, including RF, digital, and analog circuits.
  • Background in satellite operations, including troubleshooting and developing operational procedures.
