Job Title: Water Treatment Operator I

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Water Treatment Operator I to join our team at the City of Henderson, KY. As a Water Treatment Operator I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient production of potable water for our community.

Job Summary:

The Water Treatment Operator I is responsible for operating and maintaining the water treatment plant, including monitoring and controlling the treatment process, performing laboratory tests, and maintaining records. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain the water treatment plant, including monitoring and controlling the treatment process
  • Perform laboratory tests, including water quality analysis and chemical testing
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of plant operations and laboratory results
  • Collaborate with other plant operators and maintenance personnel to ensure smooth plant operations
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and facilities
  • Participate in training and professional development programs to stay up-to-date on the latest water treatment technologies and best practices
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in environmental engineering, environmental technology, or a related field preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
