Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Faculty Radiochemist to join our team at the University of California, San Francisco. As a key member of our Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, you will be responsible for developing an independent research program in radiopharmaceutical chemistry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead an independent research program in radiopharmaceutical chemistry, with a focus on the radiosynthesis of new radiopharmaceutical agents.
  • Collaborate with faculty members within the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and other departments at UCSF to advance the development of new molecular imaging agents.
  • Conduct research and develop new methodologies, including GMP production, automation, and small molecule chemistry.
  • Teach and mentor residents, fellows, medical students, and masters students in radiopharmaceutical chemistry and related fields.
  • Contribute to the development of new radiopharmaceuticals for clinical applications, including neurological, oncology, cardiology, and other areas.
Requirements
  • PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Radiochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate or postdoctoral training and research experience, preferably at least two years combined.
  • Strong research and teaching background in radiopharmaceutical chemistry and related fields.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
