The Oncology Business Unit's Capabilities & Operations Team is tasked with guiding strategy and enhancing effectiveness across the U.S.
Advising, Congresses, Sponsorships, GPO Execution, and External Consulting collaborations. This team collaborates with other U.S.
Commercial Oncology divisions to formulate and manage strategies based on brand plans, develop annual plans concerning the aforementioned areas, and partner with AbbVie’s internal departments to ensure seamless execution.
The Marketing Manager for the Oncology Business Unit - Congress Team will oversee Congress and Sponsorship Strategy and Planning for AbbVie’s Oncology Solid Tumor Portfolio, working closely with functional partners.
Solid Tumor Oncology Brands, Internal and External Agencies, Managed Health Care / GPO, Medical, Market Analytics and Business Intelligence (MABI), Legal, Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC), Global Marketing and Commercial Operations (GMCO), Patient Advocacy, Field Operations, Field Sales, and Business Services teams to strategize, implement, and develop materials for various marketing-sponsored events.
This role is classified at Grade 19.Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate in the integrated strategy and annual planning for Congresses and Sponsorships aligned with cross-franchise brand plans.
• Manage the comprehensive Congress and Sponsorship master calendar to ensure timelines, logistics, and attendance goals are achieved for national and marketing-sponsored events.
• Engage with cross-functional teams to fulfill Congress and Sponsorship objectives (e.g., Society of Gynecological Oncology, Oncology Nurse Society, Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology, and other prioritized Congresses).
• Analyze and oversee Sponsorship opportunities to maximize return on investment.
• Work with brand teams to enhance presence and deliver materials for regional/local conferences and advocacy meetings.
• Manage and ensure the effective execution of key tactics, including the review, approval, and delivery of derivative materials (e.g., booths, panels, sponsorship art and messages).
• Oversee the approval of Statements of Work / Purchase Orders, coordinating with relevant vendors and logistics as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures regarding Congress and Sponsorship planning and execution, in collaboration with OEC.
• Lead governance processes for Congresses and Sponsorships within the Oncology BU Capabilities & Operations, track relevant metrics, and present findings to Oncology BU Capabilities & Operations teams.
• Continuously contribute to process and capability innovation through assessments and recommendations.
• Stay updated on all processes and procedures related to Congresses and Sponsorships.
• Actively seek best practices from other AbbVie franchises.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
